It's been a while since I've updated everyone on all of the changes that have been occurring here!

Obviously, you can see we have a new logo, and a new color scheme on the site. I think we'll stick with it, however I may create variations that you can choose from.

We've added a translation service, allowing users to post in their native languages, and the text will automatically be translated for you. For instance, if your default language is set to English, and a user enters a message with his language set to Polish, you will see the translated text automatically! You also have the ability to change the whole layout to a different language. Once the pages are cached on the server, they will load quicker. Some languages are not cached yet, however they will be. Enabling all 52 languages to be cached overloaded the server.

We've also added groups: communities to discuss specific topics. Feel free to create up to five of your own groups, and join others.

The gallery is coming along nicely, and is seeing nice traffic. We really could use more images, so please, upload your images so we can have a good sized gallery. I've been allowed to use images from great companies such as Legend Numismatics (http://www.legendcoin.com) and Heritage Auctions (http://www.ha.com), among others such as Rosenblum coins.

If you are aware of sites that have high resolution images of coins and currency that are public domain, please let me know.

Enjoy the site and please don't hesitate to make suggestions and comments!

After some talking, we decided it would be best to move from USCoinInfo.com to CoinForums.com.

We decided on this after the site's gallery was created and the amount of banknotes and postal orders increased quickly.

So here we are! We are still working on getting a new "skin" for the site, since vBulletin is still not stable. It's getting there though, so we should be getting some work done in the next month or two.

I am still unsure if I will be keeping the 'home' page, since it is no longer USCoinInfo.com. Those pages might be moved to their own, seperate site. We'll see soon.

Enjoy. And please invite your friends!

Phew! What work.

We're still working hard at updating the gallery here at US Coin Info. I'm regretting choosing the name US Coin Info, after all, we own several domain names that are numismatic related.

But let's forget about that for now. The gallery is coming along well. Here is what is planned:

Watermark on the fly for larger images. Right now we are watermarking on the fly previews only.

Remove / Add countries as needed. We need to decide if we should be splitting up ancient coins somehow.

Continue to listen to people contributing. Do we need to add certain features? Remove some? Let me know.

There is more, but I will be working on these things for now, as well as cleaning up the general look of the site. We are waiting for the new theme still, and this will be implemented in the future.

Enjoy!

Well there are several changes coming soon that I am excited about.

First off, we will be running version 4.0.2 of the software in early February. Changes include a LOT of bug fixes, mostly in the way images are edited. Hopefully a lot of this stuff will be fixed.

Second, we have a theme being made, and we are expecting that to come around sometime in mid-February. If you don't like it, you will be able to use our original theme, or vBulletins default, which is what you are looking at as of 01/26/10.

Last, we will be adding a new gallery/album system. This will be very nice, and I'm sure you will like it when it is implemented.

Don't forget, you can start your own blogs, your own albums, and more. Feel free to put these to use. Any suggestions, let me know!

Enjoy.

Well vBulletin 4 went 'gold'. This is the release version, and although it still contains bugs, they felt it was ok to release it. There are still a lot of issues with it that will be getting smooshed soon.

As for the site, since we are not officially live yet, we are steadily working on articles and information. The forums are up however, and you can feel free to sign up. It may be quiet for a while though - which is all the more reason for people to sign up and begin posting!

We are looking for people who are interested in contributing articles on any coin topics. Get in touch with me if you are interested.

Just a note, the forums will eventually be redirecting to coinforums.com, which is also owned by us.

More information as it becomes available on our new skin (the theme for the site) and when we officialy go 'live'.

Once vBulletin goes 'gold', or goes into production release, we will be working on a new skin for the site. This will change the appearance of the Homepage, Blogs, and Forums. We are still looking for people to help add content, if you are interested, please send me a PM or E-Mail and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
Well as you see, we are still in the works. Since I will be out of town a bit in December and January, we are aiming for a opening in late January.

vBulletin is currently working on RC1 and it will be released on December 11th, 2009. Hopefully they will fix a lot of our issues with creating articles. The biggest problem we have right now is that I can not format the images correctly.

But, since we're in a beta, this is expected. Even these blog posts, and a lot of the articles are tests for the final opening.

Hang in there with us!
